101 update

The list is finalized and finally posted. Unfortunately the only things I have checked off so far are
#100 print list
# 84 read 101 books, read 7 so far

But from the last post, Audra`s quilt is half done. And there are so many projects on the go. So hopefully I will have some better progress soon!

Dad Rocks

Another present for Jamie for Father's Day was this garden stone Audra and I made him. Well, that I made him. I saw this idea on pinterest, of course, and it was a paper weight. Jamie not having an office job, didn't think a paper weight would be very useful. Thought more outside the box, and outside the house, to our garden, and knew if I could find it, a garden stone would be perfect. (thank you Michael's for the kit!)

Quilt Update

Audra's quilt is half way done, So many squares sewn together, now it will need to be ironed (my least favourite job in sewing) to press all the seams, and completely sewn together. I wonder what I got myself into. Here is a quick look at the pattern I went with.

Deer Pillow

For all the hunters in your life...
oh wait, maybe that's just me.
For Father's Day, for both Jamie and Jim, I made deer pillows. I saw the original at www.makeitlovely.com, and it was so inspiring. She did hers with a flowery fabric, and as great as it looked, when I found the camo fabric, I knew what a great pillow it would turn out to be.
I actually bought the pillow forms, because I figured it would take a lot of poly fill to stuff those puppies. And they definitely made a good sturdy pillow.
One pillow I made, stuffed then sewed the side up. Didn't like that version very much, so for the next I made more of a pillow cover, so you can actually take it off. Which made stuffing the pillow into the case, so much easier the second time. Live and learn right?
Jamie loves his, and Jim will get his this weekend. Hopefully he likes it too.

Daisy

Audra has loved In the Night Garden for quite some time. They are an odd mix of characters, but none the less, she loves them. Her face lights up when she fishes one of them out of the toy box. But lately, one in particular, has stolen my daughter's heart.
Daisy.

Daisy, Daisy, Daisy. She will say it over and over and over again. Calls the other characters Daisy. Daisy goes everywhere with her now.

Daisy makes it to Daycare most days. She goes to bed with her. She would even take her into the tub if allowed. We have a small plastic one that goes in the tub! lol.
It's so funny seeing her with the doll. She hugs and squeezes her, drags her around, it's so cute!

Some fun mail

The past couple of days, I have gotten a few fun packages. Thank you Canada Post for not being on strike daily.
The first package I received was a package of Michael Miller's Ho Ho Hoot fabric. They are quilting squares, 6.5 x 6.5, so don't think they qualify as a charm pack. But they will make a great lap quilt or I was even thinking a christmas tree skirt.

Then yesterday, my mailbox was full with another package.
Yay! Two charm packs of Moda's Hideaway. Love that line by Lauren and Jessi Jung. Scored a great deal on them, and hopefully two packs will be enough to start a quilt for Audra. The fabric is just fun and funky. A little country, a little Swiss Alps, just plain fun.

Partner Day

What a gorgeous bunch of flowers. They were quite a surprise and definitely made my day. The other day was Partner Appreciation Day, which is a day for all the people, or partners, who work at Starbucks. Well, my honorary staff got them for me. So sweet. I know it's not my store, but it's nice to be appreciated and know that the staff likes having me there.
