Miss Eleanor Joy

Welcome to the world Miss Eleanor Joy! You were born Wednesday October 10th, 2012, at 4:20 in the afternoon. You were a mere 5lbs10oz, 19.5 inches long, and your little head was 13 inches round.
You came out very awake and alert!

So many people came to see you in the hospital. Your big sister wasn't really sure what to think.
Our first picture of a family of FOUR!
Welcome my sweet second angel. Labor wasn't too bad, and it was exciting to see you after all said and done. We went in Wednesday morning and were induced and we saw you that afternoon. Your dad predicted that you would be born by 4pm, and he was pretty close!
You are so sweet and precious. You sleep a lot, and eat a lot, and are pretty content most of the time. Here's hoping that stays somewhat regular. lol. Welcome sweet girl.

Fall and Rocton Fair

Fall is here. I love the changing of this season. I absolutely love pulling onto our court and seeing the leaves and all the colours that surround us. Fall is best season, a little cooler at night, sunny and warm during the day. Great for walks and picking leaves.
Fall is also the time for all the fall fairs. Well, being so close to due date, we chose, or more specifically it was chosen for me, to stay close to home, and go to the Rockton World's Fair.
Rows and rows of every bird and fowl imaginable.
Corn boxes. One of the highlights for Audra. Not sure why kids love these so much but they do. Its a little cleaner then sand?

 Checking out all the animals.
Started to rain a bit, but we came prepared with raincoat. Definitely didn't stop her from enjoying her first soft ice cream.
The rain also didn't stop her from playing her first carnival game. It was give the vendor $5, pick out some ducks, and everyone wins! She got to pick out her own prize and chose a little lion. It was so cute!
Fall is a time for turkey shirts, that were re-purposed from last year.

More crazy birds, turkeys and ducks.
Prize winning pumpkins, cabbages, and mis-shapen vegetables.
 Biggest ball of twine ever.
 Prize winning beets.
It was great to see all the new animals, babies born, and a great day at the fair as our family of three. Next year we will be attending as a family of four! Crazy and I can't wait!

Bento Box Love

So I may have a new food obsession. Well Audra and I that is.
(gotta love the photo bomb that she snuck into!)
Ordered some great stuff online, various bento boxes and fun stuff to go with them. Little containers to pack things in. Anything to make mealtimes fun!
Leftovers packed up for a fun lunch.
Cute egg molds (have been trying to order these from Amazon for months but no one would ship to Canada!) You hard boil the eggs, then put them in the molds, and cool them off. Audra LOVES them. Couldn`t get her to eat eggs before, the molds are like magic!
 Snack time!
A puzzle sandwich for breakfast one morning.
A fun flower lunch. All the cucumbers are cut like flowers. Cheese and crackers, homemade applesauce and grapes.
Add some halloween picks, and some sprinkles and voila! Halloween lunch.
This little girl is loving it and actually eating. I should start doing them for dinner too, maybe that will get her to eat that meal in a quick and timely manner, because lord knows she certainly does not eat dinner in that fashion ever!

Baking Deliciousness

 All these delicious apples became......
 yummy apple pancakes
lots of apple sauce and apple butter (forgot to take pictures)
amazing apples dipped in homemade caramel sauce
apple caramel bread, using the same homemade caramel sauce
 the bread was absolutely delicious
Audra and I made pumpkin cupcakes, and with the leftover pumpkin puree, made pumpkin rollups,
,
which turned out amazingly. Will be making these again!
And one of my favourite dinners of late, Nicoise Sald, but made with shrimp instead of tuna. As I look at that picture, I think I may want this for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Mmmm mmmm mmmm.

Apple Picking

A couple of Sundays ago, we went apple picking. There is a great family farm up in Waterdown, Fruitigo's, and they were one of the only orchards we were able to pick more then one or two varieties of apples. The frost we had in the spring really damaged a lot of crops this year, so apple picking was a little sparse. This was our go to farm anyway, so it all worked out well.
They have a great playground so Audra tore around there for awhile.
Then it was on to the actual picking, or in Audra`s case, eating. She ate quite a few that day!

Kat and Paul met us at the farm for some picking as well. It was nice having Paul and his height to reach those high apples!

It was a fun morning. Lots of apples, and lots of goodies made with those apples. Our last outing as a family of three!
