So the new favourite pastime around here, is playing play dough. You will now sit for hours, playing, cutting, rolling, and just making a mess. (and why the pippy {soother} is constantly around lately I am not really sure) Play dough is fun until it frustrates you or mom and dad do something you didn't want done, but for the most part, has become a great activity. You still haven't quite figured out that play dough can be anything you want it to be, and then re-made and made into something else.
The little plastic scissors that came with the bucket of fun shapes, have been put to good use. You are slowly learning how to use them. Thankfully they don't cut anything else, because you think it's fun to cut your shirt with them. Not what we want you to be doing! Tempting somedays to also eat the play dough. So it is definitely an activity that needs supervision, but you love it so. You know we only play in your highchair, so it limits the mess and where the play dough gets tossed. I think Gwen has eaten a few pieces now. But it's non-toxic for children, so hoping for the same with dogs! lol.

28 Months
28 months. Time flies. Every day is a new adventure at this stage. You are quite the little independent girl. It's hard to believe. Not my little baby anymore. You never stop, it's always go go and go some more. You love being outside, love your new bike and love your cozy coupe. Chalking in the driveway is a favourite pastime and it's funny, even at two, you get hopscotch. We have to continually draw new ones when the rain and cars wash it away. And mom always has to chalk Audra, Mom and Dad.
Our fire alarm needed a new battery and you took it upon yourself to fix it. You are so freaking smart. You knew that the screwdriver had to go where the screws were and you even managed to turn them a little bit. You constantly amaze us.
Determination at it's best. Helping Dad to fix it. Jamie has big plans of teaching her how to use a wrench and her little hands can get into the small spots of the Camaro! lol.
Whether it's playing kitchen and cooking meals, reading stories, or singing Elmo, you never stop. Your counting is finally coming along. We can usually get to 10 all by yourself. 5 is clearly not a favourite and skipped most times, but the rest are there. Yay. Alphabet is still a little sketchy. I think we can get to G or H now. lol.You repeat absolutely everything, so somedays where words pop out I think how do you know that?
Hard to believe that you are going to be a big sister. You point to my tummy and say baby but don't think you really know what's happening, or what will happen. You will always be my first baby though. I think you'll be a great big sister. Well, I hope you'll be a great big sister. Less then a month till we find out if it will be a little brother or little sister you will be big sister too. Will be interesting either way. If they have the same silly smile/grin as you, and like your momma I'm told, they will be one cute kid!

Baby Shower
Baby showers and baby presents are so much fun!!! Made this diaper cake for my friend Sarah and her little man Coen. It was a good thing we had the shower when we did, as the week after she delivered early!
Of course there had to be something Winnie the Pooh related. The little blanket was too cute to resist. I did a pack of size one diapers then incorporated stuff from her registry. The turtle that Audra was quite smitten with, is to cover the tap. There are lots of washcloths stuffed in. A set of keys to play with.
And of course the gift wouldn't be from me unless there were some homemade items. Made a few burp cloths, which I must say were a struggle for a boy as I have very little boy fabric!, and a little onesie with a tie sewn on. Every little man needs a tie.
Sarah loved everything, which was the point. Hopefully everything comes in handy.

Wrap dress
This is a little wrap dress that I made Audra a little while ago and forgot to post about it. It was made from One Yard Wonders, the newer one. It's a mandarin collar wrap dress. My model was anything less then co-operative when trying to take pictures. She has worn it with shirts underneath and tights but will be good for summer as it. It really isn't that low cut, I promise! lol
It has bias armholes and neckline. It is secured with cupcake buttons, that someone keeps trying to pull off.
It's cute and really lightweight. The pattern was easy to follow and it was made from a sheet. Yup, you read that right. A lightweight cotton sheet, that I found while thrifting. So expect to possibly see that pattern again! lol.

Easter
So the annual Easter egg hunt was a little more Audra, a little less Jamie this year. She didn't quite understand it all. Wanted to eat the peeps and not continue looking, but for the most part filled her basket up.
The Easter bunny brought some Wonder Pet mega blocks and a Roland singing toolbox. She was very impressed with both. I think Jamie was very impressed with Roland. And being the typical child, the box was just as fun later on.
