26 Months

These posts seem to creep up quicker and quicker as the days go by. You are one very busy little girl. The things that you get yourself up to, constantly amaze us. You love daycare and going to see the kids. I love that you call Kristin, Te-te. She thinks it's cute too. You and your buddy Alexis can be quite the handful, but are so cute together. Although I found out, you aren't the instigator, you are more then willing to lay down and have your nap. Good to know that you're not always the trouble maker.

The carrot from the snowman's nose, that you decided to eat instead of adding to his face. Guess you were in need of a snack!

You love to be busy. Whether it's colouring, painting, cooking in your kitchen, playing with all your little people and the zoo, you are really good at entertaining your self for a bit. We're making sure the tv is off and you play. You run around and play chase with anyone whose willing. The dog isn't always up for it, but you can chase your dad around and he'll humor you for awhile. You love music and love to dance. It's so cute when you dance on your dad's feet. Very daddy/daughter moment. Your dad loves to scares the willies out of you, and you laugh and thinks it's great.
You've been a really trooper with the bathroom reno. You were quite horrified to come home and see an empty gutted bathroom. There were lots of "oh nooooo!!!!!". But now you walk by the bathroom and state "new tub" in your cute little way.
Lately you have been looking for things. It's so funny to hear you say, "are you (insert missing object)..?" are you daisy is usually what we hear.

You are so full of life and no matter how tired mom and dad are at the end of the day, you don't let us rest! lol. The things you pick up always amaze me, and we are trying so hard to be good and not say bad words around you. It pains me that you are getting up earlier again, but when you call out "mom! hi mom! mom.." from the gate in your room, who couldn't smile and trudge out of bed.

Audra, my little monkey. You are so fun at this stage. Haven't seen too many of those terrible two's coming out, let's keep it that way. I know you've been fussy with some of those molars coming in and we're trying to do everything in our power to help you. Keep smiling, stop harassing the dog and we'll get through another month no problem.
Love you boo!

Fabric Bowl

So by looking at this fabric basket you would never know how huge it became! Oh my word. I started making it, pattern from Stash Happy Patchwork, and when I sewed it together it became evident that the medium size is actually giant sized!

It came together easy enough. The bias tape and I struggled a bit, had some words, and in the end it co-operated enough to finish the top.

I used bits and pieces of that Moda candy bar. So there was some Oliver + S mixed in with some other pretty fabrics.
So now that I have this giant fabric bowl, not sure what I am going to do with it. I didn't really have plans for the medium size bowl I was creating, let alone the giant one now.
Maybe a fruit bowl?

Quilty

So in case I didn't have enough sewing projects to keep me occupied, I discovered that making these stars, flowers (?) are super fun and easy. I have a whole new stack of books lining my crafty book shelf, and they all deal with quilting. I am loving some of the great patterns and new ideas around quilting. This means new gadgets for the sewing machine doesn't it?

Besides it desperately needing a good iron, it turned out pretty well. I think I might back it and put it on a pillow. The squares are from the Moda candy bar, and once I pulled the box apart it had the template for the above star/flower. That's how un-quilty I really am, not sure what to call it. lol. I know that wanting to quilt was on my 101 list, so yet another item to cross off. Will have to do an update post, so I can officially cross items off. Slowly but surely, it's good to have a list.

The bathroom, part three

Greenboard/drywall went in. The mudding and taping has been taking a bit more time then Jamie anticipated. It is what it is though.
Mudded/taped and then primed.
Tub surround went in and it looks fantastic!!! Nice new curvy shower curtain, gives you lots more room. Glad we didn't throw out the old shower curtain, as we haven't bought a new one yet. And it matches so well with the rest of the green board walls. lol.

Did I not say that Audra looks so tiny next to the new tub? When she's sitting in it, all you see are little eyes peering over the top. haha

Matching Hats

When I started knitting the first hat, there was no intention of making a mother/daughter hat combo. I screwed up the first hat and decreased way to quickly, making it a very small little hat, that didn't fit this momma's head. So it became a hat for Audra.

I re-knit a new hat for myself, and it fits much better then the little one. lol.
Audra was not overly impressed with the hat wearing and picture taking, although she normally loves wearing the hat, and thinks it's great that we have matching hats. I guess I will have to take it while I can get it. Doubt in 10 years she will want anything matching.

The bathroom, part two

Hooray for walls covered with insulation. Here's to a much warmer room now. Can you believe that there was none in the walls before? (I totally understand why the room was always so cold before!)
And you have to wonder why sort of torture device is in our walls? What is with those screws? We really weren't sure why they were there. So we left them in. lol.
Yay for running water, a brand new tub that seems so large Audra will get lost in it, and for it fitting perfectly into the room.
And a big yay to the guys who put it in and worked hard to make it work.

The bathroom...

So this is what our bathroom looked like. We decided that when Jamie put his hand through the back tiles, it was time to redo it.
Like all big projects, timelines seem to always be extended. We thought we might be done by now, but sadly not.
Demo is always the fun part.
And then there was nothing in the bathroom. Gutted to the studs. Oh my what have we done?

Nutella

Who doesn't love a good nutella sandwich? And who is so cute with a little nutella goatee? lol.

Valentines Day Craft

Who doesn't love valentines day crafts? Audra and I pulled out the supplies and made some valentine hugs for everyone. I saw this idea I'm sure on Pinterest, but didn't pin it, so have no one to reference it back to. We also kinda adapted it to be our own.
